About us.

The British Sauna Society is on a mission to make the physical, mental and social health benefits of authentic sauna available to more people across the UK. From hosting events like the Sauna Summit and the UK Aufguss Championships, to ensuring that there’s a high bar for sauna standards nationwide, we’re committed to support the growth of sauna culture in the UK.

As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a talented Social Media Manager to lead our presence on Instagram and LinkedIn.

The role.

You’ll take ownership of our social channels, creating engaging content that provides useful education and entertainment to our audience. This is a hands-on, creative role ideal for someone who thrives in mission-driven environments and wants to join a fast-moving and unique organisation.

Key responsibilities.

  • Content creation. Plan, design, and publish compelling content (images, copy, and short-form video) across Instagram and LinkedIn.

  • Community engagement. Monitor comments, messages, and tags to maintain a warm, responsive presence and support community growth.

  • Audience growth. Develop strategies to connect with a wider audience to grow our follower base.

  • Partnerships and outreach. Identify and engage with potential partners, collaborators, and businesses through social media.

  • Brand consistency. Maintain visual and tone-of-voice consistency across all social content, aligned with our brand identity.

  • Performance monitoring: Track key metrics and report on progress monthly, using insights to guide improvements.

Requirements.

  • Good knowledge of / a background in the UK sauna movement and global bathing culture.

  • Proven experience growing and managing brand social media accounts (ideally both Instagram and LinkedIn).

  • Strong content creation skills - from writing clear, compelling captions to designing visual assets in Figma or Canva.

  • A good eye for photography and basic social video editing skills.

  • A natural community-builder with experience in moderating and fostering online engagement.

  • An eye for design and a good understanding of wellness/lifestyle visual trends.

  • A proactive, self-directed approach – you’ll be managing the whole social presence, with our team’s support.

  • Is UK-based and available for occasional travel to events or meetings.

What we offer.

  • Flexible, part-time and remote working.

  • Opportunity to shape a fast-growing organisation and movement.

  • Supportive, passionate team and a collaborative culture.
