Another year, another Vibes 🤌❤️ This year was its seventh, and there were 41 of us. I'm never really sure how to describe it to people... somewhere between family reunion, wellness retreat, woods mega rave, corporate bonding workshop, and avant garde sensory spectacle. Each year everyone commits huge amounts of time and energy into making it happen, and the degree of love and afterglow is almost always proportional to the work put in. Community really isn't something that can be bought, sold or given. It's something that you have to earn and work for. It's doing those exact things that give the value, belonging and hedonic reward that underpins why it's so important to us as humans. And why it's so desperately coveted by those that don't have it. To the point of being deadly - even more so than alcohol or smoking (thanks to @drmartha.newson who shared some very timely data at the Sauna Summit last week). Today, 10 years ago, I lost my eldest sister in a car crash. You obviously reflect a lot when anniversaries like this come around. What have I learnt since then? What have I changed for the better? For the worst? How might her will for the world be conducted through me? A love of partying and raving is certainly her heritage - she would jump out of first floor windows to run off to parties. I remember my parents going out to find her when she'd run off to Exodus or the Milton Keynes Sanctuary. I'd lie in bed hearing the beats from the massive sound systems in the woods, wondering what to make it all. And now here I am. Following in her footsteps, I've been lucky enough to find the greatest wellbeing source I think I could ever know. And for that Gen, I will be in your gratitude forever. Miss you xxxxx
