Mark Lamb
British Sauna Society Director & Council Representative
Mark Lamb brings deep experience in building, supporting, and connecting professional communities at scale. With a long career in publishing for the legal profession, Mark spent many years running and growing a highly successful company that combined digital platforms, events, and partnerships to serve an entire industry. Having recently exited the business, he now brings that strategic, commercial, and operational expertise to the British Sauna Society.
Mark was introduced to the Society through his partner, Emma O’Kelly, author of Sauna: The Power of Deep Heat. What began as curiosity quickly became immersion: through extensive travel, research trips, and engagement with sauna communities across the UK, the Nordic countries, and beyond, Mark developed a deep appreciation for the cultural richness, social power, and public value of communal bathing.
Recognising parallels between the emerging UK sauna sector and the professional industries he had previously helped to organise and strengthen, Mark saw the opportunity for the British Sauna Society to play a similar convening and enabling role. He was a driving force behind the creation of the Sauna Summit in 2024, bringing the industry together for the first time at scale. Now in its third edition, the Summit has become a cornerstone event for UK and international sauna leaders.
Mark has also played a central role in developing the Society’s commercial sustainability, including business memberships, sponsorship, and industry partnerships, ensuring that growth supports, rather than compromises, the Society’s public-benefit mission.
At the heart of Mark’s contribution is a belief in sauna as a place of community: a modern commons where people gather, reconnect, and restore. He joined the Board as a Director in early 2025 and continues to support the Society’s evolution into a resilient, credible, and collaborative national organisation dedicated to fostering sauna culture across the UK.
