Bather Membership.

  • If you want to change the email address registered to your membership, please send an email with your old email and the new email you would like to switch it to to membership@britishsaunasociety.org.uk.

  • If you would like to no longer be a member of the British Sauna Society, please send a request along with your reason for leaving to membership@britishsaunasociety.org.uk.

  • Being a Bather Member does not allow you to display the BSS logo as a proof of membership. Use of BSS logo assets, specifically the Operator, Practitioner and Supplier logos, is only possible for business members only.

    If you display the BSS logo on your website or marketing assets without a business membership we will ask you to remove it.

Operator Membership.

  • We review your application and determine the tier you should be on, based on the size of your business. You do not have to choose a tier when you apply to become a BSS Operator Member.

  • If you’re approved for an Operator Membership, you will transfer over to this membership immediately. If you have an existing Bather Membership, we will set it to lapse and no further payment will be taken.

  • The number of BSS Bather Memberships you can offer to your staff is capped for the tier you're on. You do not have to pay any extra for adding staff members - it is included in your business membership package.

    • Tier 1: 15 memberships

    • Tier 2: 30 memberships

    • Tier 3: 100 memberships

    • Log in to your membership area. 

    • Once you’re in, navigate to the top right and click on ‘Your Membership’. You’ll see your operator membership here. 

    • Scroll to the bottom of the page where it says ‘Your Members’ and click on ‘Add Member’.

    • In the overlay, choose the relevant business membership plan you would like to add your staff to, and enter their first and last names, and their contact email.

    • Your staff member will receive an invite to sign up to membership.

  • We offer a tiered pricing structure, based on the size of your business. You do not need to choose this on your application - we will allocate you into the correct tier when accepting your membership. Higher tiers include more staff memberships - see our FAQs.

    While we develop our membership, we’re offering 50% off annual membership until 1 April 2026.

    Tier 1: £250 £125/year

    Tier 2: £500 £250/year

    Tier 3: £850 £425/year

    As a professional association that shares and enhances professional knowledge and standards, business membership to the British Sauna Society is eligible for tax relief from HMRC. The BSS has a live application in review with HMRC.

    • British Sauna Society Approved Operator Member certificate and logo usage.

    • Appear on the British Sauna Society’s National Register of Approved Saunas and Sauna Map.

    • Hosting and promotion of your events on BSS website and feature in event promotions.

    • Includes individual Bather Memberships for staff.

    • Access to Business Member only networks and events.

    • Priority access to event tickets, including Sauna Summit.

    • Discounts with BSS partners.

  • No - you only will need to have one membership for your entire organisation. When you submit your information for the sauna map, fill in and submit separate forms for each site.
