First International Sauna School in South Estonia

The International Sauna School launches its first programmes in South Estonia with two immersive winter trainings rooted in traditional Estonian sauna culture.

Hosted at the historic Ärni smoke sauna, this 7-day experiential course offers participants the opportunity to explore the cultural, practical, and ritual aspects of saunakeeping in a small-group setting. The programme blends hands-on practice with cultural context, approaching sauna as a space for care, presence, and community.

Dates
Mon, 2 Feb 2026 – Sun, 8 Feb 2026
Sun, 22 Feb 2026 – Sat, 28 Feb 2026

The course combines traditional knowledge, healing practices, and personal development through the art of saunakeeping, offering insight into how sauna has long supported wellbeing, community, and connection to nature.

Participants learn how to prepare and care for a sauna, as well as how to guide meaningful sauna experiences for others, working with heat, water, breath, herbs, and ritual. Drawing on both ancient Finno-Ugric traditions and contemporary practice, the programme explores sauna as a space of purification, respect, and shared presence.

Taught in English and open to both beginners and those with some experience, the course is designed for those wishing to deepen their understanding of sauna traditions within a living cultural landscape.

Places are limited and registration is required.
